Having a child with autism is often an emotional struggle. RAW Food Too Fatty!

A few days a go I found an interesting article about how diets are unhealthy?
This time it was not about B-12 and folate which are the usual complaints I see about diet.
What made this article even better is that it was written by a raw foodist, Frederic Patenaude.

Fred arguments that most diets are, believe it or not, too fatty!
And that diets do NOT contain enough fruits and vegetables.

I found this very interesting and so did many others as the article has over 150 comments.

Turns out that the average raw-foodist gets 60% of his calories from fat, which is 20% higher than the Standard American Diet. It might be healthy fat, but it is still fat.

These guys are eating way too many nuts, oils and avocados.

I heard a raw food chef say that we shouldn’t eat more than a handful of nuts each day. Maybe that is a good guideline as we take part of, what I believe is, one of the healthiest diets on earth.

Losing weight after the age of forty can be very difficult.

Learn how to replace those high calorie foods with something healthier. If you drink a lot of soda or kool-aid type drinks, then switch to water. If you do not like the taste of plain water, you can use sugar free flavor packets that taste delicious and have no calories.

Take your lunch to work with you every day. This will help you to resist the temptation to run through the drive-thru at lunch. Make sure that you pack healthy in-between meal snacks in your lunch. This will keep you from hitting the snack machine during the day.

Reduce your caloric intake by 200 calories per day. You can do this by adding more vegetables as a side dish. The vegetables will fill you up without the added calories.
