How to get rid of dark circles

One of the most important organs of our body is our skin, and most people are always looking to improve its look with cosmetics and anti aging creams. Dark circles under eyes are a common beauty problem. These under eye dark circles give us an appearance of tiredness or illness.

There are different theories and expert opinions on what are the causes of dark circles. However, there are a few reasons that are known to be common:

- Contrary to popular believe fatigue does not make dark circles under the eyes.

- If others in your family have dark circles then there are chances are you will be getting dark circles under your eyes.

-Nasal congestion does make them appear because when the nose is congested, the veins drain from your eyes and become wider and darker.

- Exposure to sun light increases the level of pigmentation and cause tanning. The same thing applies for the skin under the eyes. When skin under the eyes gets exposed to sun it tans and appears darker.

-Medications which cause dilation of blood vessels cause dark circles. Dilated blood vessels allow more blood to flow through them and these blood vessels look prominent through under the eye skin which is very thin.

-Poor nutrition leads to paleness of skin and under eyes dark circles.

- Eyelids swelling because of sleep is another common cause. Gravity can cause fluids to build up in your lower eyelids.

-Hormonal Imbalances during pregnancy, menstruation, menopause, etc can cause paleness of the skin and which leads to the appearance of dark circles.

- Dark circles can also be the result of chronic skin conditions like atopc eczema.

The good news is that there are creams and over the counter products that can help you get rid of dark circles, bags and puffiness. Those who have dark circles can wash their face often and apply moisturizers with vitamin E. This can induce the natural healing of the skin. However you have to look for products, creams and lotions that are certified and made of natural ingredients that can be used by any type of skin. Wear sunglasses when you go out.

You can also some home remedies. You can grate a cucumber and squeeze the fresh juice out of the gratings. Dip two cotton balls in it and keep these cotton balls on the
eyes. This relaxes eyes and relieves tiredness of your eyes. This is considered as one of the best remedies for dark circles. You can also try this with potato. Another home solution you can try is chamomile: make tea and when cool use either cotton or the teabags on your eyes. My grandmother recommends using cotton balls soaked in rose water.

What is Homeopathy ?

Homeopathy is a system of natural medicine introduced and developed by a German physician, Samuel Hahnemann, at the end of the 18th century. Homeopathy is a holistic approach to health. Holistic means to recognizing that the whole person-mind, body, spirit-is affected when there is illness. Homeopathy seeks to treat that whole person. The focus is not the symptoms or the sickness, but the individual as a whole. Homeopathic medicines, or ‘remedies’, stimulate the body’s self-regulating mechanisms to initiate the healing process.

According to the homeopathic philosophy, when a person becomes ill, the body, mind, spirit are sick. The origin of illness lies in an imbalance of the vital force. The symptoms expressed by the body, mind, and spirit are the manifestation of that imbalance. By matching the symptoms of illness with the appropriate homeopathic remedy, the vital force returns to balance. The symptoms disappear as the person heals.

Homeopathy is based on 4 principles that are its foundation. Through research and practice Hahnemann verified cure through the use of similar. This means that a substance which produces a disease in a healthy person can be used to elicit a healing response in someone presenting a similar disease.

The second principle of homeopathy is the single remedy. Only one homeopathic remedy is given at one time. It would be difficult, if not impossible, to ascertain the action of multiple homeopathic remedies given all at once.

The third principle of homeopathy is the minimum dose. This refers to the infinitesimal doses of medicine given as well as to the repetition of dose only when necessary. Drugs given to individuals frequently cause side effects or adverse reactions. To solve this problem, the homeopaths administer the smallest possible dose to maximize the beneficial effects and minimize negative side effects. Dose repetition is determined by the individual’s response to the remedy. Unnecessary repetitions may lessen the body’s response, even with the correct remedy. In homeopathy, less is better.

The fourth principle of homeopathy is called the potentized remedy. Homeopathic remedies are made from natural substances from plants, minerals, etc and are manufactured unlike any other medicines. Through a process of serial dilution a much diluted extract is made.

In the early 1900s, homeopathy was popular in America, with over 15 percent of all doctors being homeopaths. French pharmacies are required to make homeopathic remedies available along with conventional medications. Homeopathic hospitals and clinics are part of the national health system in Britain. Its nontoxicity makes some consider it a good choice for the treatment of children. Another benefit of homeopathy is the cost of treatments; homeopathic remedies are inexpensive, often a fraction of the cost of conventional drugs.

Weak Abs: Women’s Ageing Pitfall

From age 20 to 60 you loose 20% of you muscles mass…if you don’t fight it.
Weak muscles makes us age faster. Back and stomach muscles forms a corset around our bodies. Without them we get back ache and will sink into a bad posture.

This is a high risk zone for women. Pregnancies and our wide pelvis makes is more important for women to watch our abs and back muscles. On top of this many of us get heavier around the hips as we age, making lower abs even more vital.

The good news is that with just 3 months training you can lower you physical age with 10 years!

I’m 36. I’ve never had 6-pack abs and I never will. But that does not make it less important for me strengthen my abs. On the contrary with a history of back ache, 3 pregnancies and a long hours in front of my laptop I should be more concerned about my abs than the average 20-year old who wants to look good in her bikini.

My solution

I started getting back ache at in my 20-tees. I went to see several doctors and all they every did was give me painkillers. I asked what I could to to make the pain go away permanently and every time I got the answer: “There is nothing you can do, you’re fine take some pain killers and move on.”

I want to find out why I have back ache so that I can do something about it.

Finally I had a series of back massages where I got to hear that my back muscles where really tense. I needed to stretch them out and strengthen them.
Yoga became my rescue. It gave me both the I needed and a powerful piece of mind.

Lately I’ve been trying out more focused strength training. And I’m really impressed by the results you see and feel in very short time. Workouts are going more and more towards fast and efficient today. You don’t need to do 100 boring crunches. By combining effective exercises which strengthens your whole core you get:

  1. Fast results
  2. In less time
  3. With a minimum of equipment

You don’t need expensive equipment.

You can see results in just a couple of week.

Other ways

Even if physical is one of the mayor keys to healthy stomach and back muscles there are other factors that can make a difference. For example:

Microwave Dangers from Real Life

In 2002 when I did my first google search on I decided not to continue in my old patterns just because I was used to it. I wanted to see how hard it would be not to have a microwave oven so I moved it to the basement.
The microwave oven never reentered my kitchen. I didn’t even miss it that much. It probably costs me a couple of minutes every day. But am I really in such a hurry?
And who knows, maybe my decision not to use a microwave oven will let me reclaim those minutes at the end of my life.

What if you can escape the inescapability of time and just enjoy the pleasure of looking young?

Quite difficult? Definitely not. Looking youthful and chirpy is just a matter of giving extra care for yourself and emphasizing your features, surely bringing out the best of what you got. So start defying your age now with some easy steps.

Stopp smoking

As early as 1800’s, it was already observed that smoking has detrimental effects on the skin. Two centuries later, people became more aware of this because these effects are evident among chronic smokers. Some of these consequences include premature lines and folds stemming from the corner of the eyes to the zygomatic area (in the aging process, wrinkles are a natural element , but smoking speeds this up); dry and leathery appearance of the skin; grey-pallor complexion; a haggard appearance; and some more.

These changes are brought about by the processes that a cigar’s ingredients bring about to the body. Nicotine, a vasoconstrictor (one that constricts the blood vessels), inhibit the smooth and easy flow of oxygen and nutrients to their destination. Nicotine also causes a diuretic effect on the body which causes a reduction of the skin’s moisture level, hereby making it tough and dry.

Carbon monoxide, a harmful component produced by smoking, has higher affinity to blood cells than oxygen. That means it reduces the amount of oxygen to many areas.

Smoking also contains a large number of free radicals that attack healthy cells and damage normal tissues.

Smoking reduces Vitamin A and collagen in the body. Vitamin A is used in the repairing function of the body. Collagen, on the other hand, is a protein that produces new and healthy skin.

Proper posture

Sitting up straight and putting shoulders back are very important for your health and appearance.  A good posture can make you look slimmer, taller, and confident. Many regard people with correct posture as young, happy, and at ease with their disposition. A good posture can even give you an instant weight loss of

10 pounds in the eyes of others. Its benefits, by the way, are not just for the outside.

A correct posture primarily puts muscles, joints, bones, and your organs to where they are supposed to sit.  It reduces the risk of having back and neck problems, arthritis, and other pains. A proper one too can help prevent the spine from becoming abnormally fixed which can lead to fatigue, headaches, and some problems with organs and functioning. With a proper posture, one can also experience less strain because one wouldn’t overuse his muscles.

Stretching hourly and practicing the proper posture every hour can help strengthen the muscles that will be needed to hold the body erect.

Having sex at least three times a week

A 10-year study indicated that couples who are in their 40’s who have sex at least three times a week look younger than those who enjoy it less often. The study even indicated that the faces of these couple have less lines and wrinkles, and have smoother and suppler skin. They credited this to the wonders of Oxytocin. It is a hormone released during sex that reduces stress. Having sex at nighttime is helpful, too!
